BRAN WAFFLES
Makes 5 waffles

Ingredients
1 cup Sasko bran rich self-raising flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
1 ml salt
150ml low fat milk
2 teaspoons oil
1 large egg, separated

Method

  • Mix the dry ingredients together.
  • Beat together the milk, oil and egg yolk. Stir this into the dry ingredients to make a batter.
  • Whisk the egg white until stiff, but not dry and fold into the batter.
  • Heat the waffle iron and spoon approximately 60ml batter onto each hollow. Level the batter & do not overflow.
  • Cook until golden brown.
  • Serve hot with accompaniments to taste.
