Gabriel Eksteen is a registered dietitian and exercise physiologist. He previously worked as a clinical dietitian in the United Kingdom for 5 years, initially in various disciplines, thereafter focusing exclusively on kidney disease. He joined the Heart and Stroke Foundation South Africa in 2014 and since 2017 leads the Nutrition Science Programme. Gabriel also lectures part time and is involved in research within the Division of Nutrition at the University of Cape Town. His main focus is the role of nutrition and exercise in the prevention of cardiovascular and other lifestyle diseases.
